The main theme of the Danish-Croatian water days in May is to exchange viewpoints on public water solutions; i.e. wastewater management and water supply management, which will be presented in a dialogue between Danish and Croatian officials, ministries, water institutes, water organisations, companies, etc.

Already in the 1970’ies, Denmark had the world’s first environmental Ministry which imposed strict environmental legislation. This has given Denmark an edge when it comes to innovation, sustainability and holistic, energy efficient solutions.
Mr. Dines Thornberg, BIOFOS A/S (Denmark). BIOFOS is Denmark's largest wastewater company. BIOFOS cleans the wastewater for 1.2 million residents of the metropolitan area of Copenhagen at their three treatment plants Lynetten, Avedøre and Damhusåen. BIOFOS utilizes the resources in the wastewater for climate-friendly energy in the form of electricity, biogas and district heating for the grid.
